NEC is proud to offer a new initiative fitting the theme of economics in action. Starting next month, the group will launch the first in a series of “NEC Discussions.” Each term, Nova students – undergraduate, masters, and PhD – along with faculty and members of the community are invited to discuss, share, and learn about economics. Hosted by our group, we will be moderating a series of discussions exploring a certain area of economics. From theory to empirics to cutting edge research, the goal is to actively engage both NEC members and friends in a series of informal talks and bring economics outside of the classroom.
The first theme for Spring 2014 will be Behavioral Economics. Over the course of two to three discussion groups to be held this semester, you are invited to join us in learning about this topic. The first of these discussions (tentatively to be held the beginning of April) will explore the foundations and core concepts in behavioral economics with subsequent discussions delving into current research in the area.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
